What is mutual aid?
The people providing for the people.
Systems weren’t designed to support all of us, so we combine our resources and strengths to meet the needs of community. In a world where we’re all free and justice is real, mutual aid has the potential to evolve beyond survival. In our mutual aid efforts, we hope to build towards a community where all of us have the tools to sustain our personal and collective wellness.
Over the years, we’ve organized alongside and supported our unhoused neighbors in Tacoma through food and supplies distribution, resource connection, and solidarity actions. In this work towards a liberated reality, we continue to work for each other’s survival. On February 2026, we launched The People’s Share Pod, a network for pooling our resources to sustainably support our neighbors in crisis.
How it works:
Every two weeks, TPA sends an email to our Pod members with the subject line "The People's Share Pod."
When a Pod member receives that email, they agree to contribute at least $5 within two weeks.
We provide two ways for you to make the contribution: through CashApp ($ThePeoplesAssembly) or PayPal (paypal.me/tpa253).
As TPA fields requests for support (whether cash assistance or material goods), we distribute aid to those in need. To maximize the number of people we can support, we may cap aid at $50 per request. We generally respond to requests for support in the order that we receive them. We give what we can when we can, no questions asked.
TPA reports out how those funds were used or pooled in support of mutual aid in our Pod Emails and general newsletter.

What if I want to donate one-time or on my own schedule?
Outside of The People’s Share Pod, we continue to organize youth and community spaces, circles, and actions. As a 100% grassroots collective of homies, we appreciate donations of any kind to support our efforts.
